Oasis Training Institute (Final Year Project)

Working as a Team Leader

Project: LAN Manager

Environment:

H/W : IBM Compatibles

S/W : C, IPX/SPX Protocol

O/S : DOS, NOVELL3.12

Details:

I headed this project leading my 3 other colleagues, I used IPX/SPX functions (Which are in C language) to handle SOCKETS. I was involved in designing and developing of two important modules‘REMOTE CONTROL’ling of the LAN and the training option.

‘REMOTE CONTROL’ing - without the knowledge of the user his present screen was transferred to the LAN manager where LAN manager was nothing but one of the workstations. Used TSR(Terminate and stay resident) programs. These TSR’s in user area provided information when required.

TRAINing – Whatever the manger Types on his workstation is simultaneously visible to all the users on the LAN. Manager can train the users.
